Hendry Juanda

Sentul Eco Edu Tourism Forest (SEETF) is a collaborative project between the governments of Indonesia and South Korea, aimed at promoting green partnership and environmental sustainability. Established in 2013, SEETF serves as a model for forest conservation and education, offering visitors a chance to engage with nature and learn about the importance of preserving biodiversity.

A Brief History

The development of SEETF began in May 2008 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Hambalang Sentul Cooperation. The project was officially inaugurated in 2013 by the forestry ministers of both countries, symbolizing a commitment to environmental stewardship and cross-cultural collaboration.

Facilities and Activities

SEETF boasts a range of facilities designed to enhance the visitor experience, including guest houses, a barracks-style accommodation for groups, an auditorium, a wood museum, a mini lab, and a prayer room. The forest itself is a conservation area where guests can participate in agroforestry and educational programs.

Educational Programs

SEETF offers various educational programs such as wildlife monitoring, reforestation initiatives, and forest conservation workshops. These programs aim to raise awareness about the significance of forests and inspire visitors to contribute to environmental conservation efforts.

Recreational Opportunities

Visitors can enjoy numerous recreational activities like hiking, cycling, and exploring the forest via a tourist train. These activities are designed to provide a fun and immersive experience while fostering a connection with the natural world.

Conclusion

The Sentul Eco Edu Tourism Forest stands as a testament to the power of international cooperation in the pursuit of environmental sustainability. It invites the public to partake in its vision, encouraging active participation and the sharing of knowledge about forest conservation and biodiversity.
